MARQUETTE — For the third year in a row, Superior Express Care and Wash in Marquette agreed to donate their car wash for an amazing fundraising event to support our local military units.

The money raised from the car wash will go towards soldiers from the two active military units in the Upper Peninsula for family activities and other support as well.

“This year the proceeds will be split between the 107th and the 652nd, but a portion of it will be specifically given to one individual who is being treated for stage four colon cancer,” said Volunteer Organizer Anna Dravland, “it’s really great because we can make sure they have the ability to enjoy the time with their family just a little bit more.”

This individually organized event has been successful over the years thanks to multiple local businesses, members of the community, and with the help of some very passionate car washers.

“I love soldiers,” said four-year-old Myles Lehigh.

Ten dollars from every oil change was donated as well. The event will take place again next year, just before the fourth of July.
