Kids learn high-flying circus arts
MARQUETTE — Local kids had some high-flying fun Wednesday at the Peter White Library, and the only thing missing was the Big Top.
Cirque Amongus is a program that teaches circus arts, like juggling and magic tricks to people of all ages. The kids had a chance to try their hand at tightrope walking, trapeze, and stilt-walking.
“I think circuses are something that’s dying out. How many kids here have ever been to a circus? I’ve only been a circus once in my life and that was when I was a kid, so here they get a chance to actually do some of the stuff themselves and I think that’s pretty cool,” said Sarah Rehborg, the Youth Services Librarian at Peter White.
This is one of many activities the Peter White Public Library has planned for the summer. Next week, the Ann Arbor Hands On Science Museum will be making a visit. Click here for a full schedule of events.
