Community welcomed at mobile food pantry stop
NEGAUNEE — A mobile food pantry is making a stop in Negaunee.
The Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank will be in Negaunee on Tuesday, May 19th. School officials will be welcoming the community and giving out tons of free food. The truck will be at Negaunee high school from five until eight p.m. next Tuesday.
“15,000 pounds of food will be delivered in a refrigerated truck. We are going to get our athletes and any other student body that wants to participate and unload the truck and help out people who will be lined up to pick up boxes of food,” said Negaunee High School Principal Mark Marana.
You do not need to pre–qualify or fill out any paperwork, just show up. and be prepared to be given some assistance if you are in need. Principal Manara says he and his students are looking forward to helping out.
“It’s really a positive thing for our student athletes to do and to give back to our community here in Negaunee,” continued Marana.
It is hoped by all involved that the Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank stop in Negaunee will be a regularly occurring event.
