Narcotics suspect fails to appear for trial
CRYSTAL FALLS — A bench warrant has been issued for a man who failed to appear for the first day of his trial in Iron County.
26-year-old Justin Gollakner was scheduled to begin a two–day trial this morning in Iron County Circuit Court to face a charge of delivery or manufacture of less than fifty grams of a narcotic. That charge carries a maximum penalty of twenty years imprisonment.
He is one of four individuals from the Iron River area arrested on assorted drug charges by UPSET detectives and other law enforcement agencies late last year after a lengthy investigation. One of the suspects, twenty three year old Dijon Carter, was already sentenced to nine months in jail.
The remaining suspects will be sentenced on various dates beginning May 11th.
