DNR confirms video footage of male cougar
MACKINAC COUNTY — For the 28th time since 2008, evidence of a cougar in the Upper Peninsula has been officially verified by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. DNR’s Wildlife Division officially confirmed video footage Thursday of a cougar in Mackinac County.
Two hunters from Remus captured the male cougar with the use of a trail camera at a deer kill sight. The video shows the male cougar coming back to the location over the span of several hours.
If you believe you have evidence of a cougar (photo, tracks, scat), the DNR is requesting to please contact your local DNR office or report it online at www.michigan.gov/cougar.
