Police arrested a Gwinn man for his third offense of operating while intoxicated after his vehicle struck another in Marquette Monday morning.

Marquette City Police responded to the scene on McClellan Ave. near Harbor Hills Drive around 9:30 a.m. Police say the 36-year-old Gwinn resident was traveling southbound on the road when he lost control of the car and slid into the oncoming traffic lane.

His vehicle hit a northbound car driven by a 24-year-old Palmer man. Both drivers and the two passengers in the northbound vehicle were take to U.P. Health System Marquette for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The Gwinn man is currently lodged in the Marquette County Jail.

MCPD were assisted on scene by the Marquette City Fire Department and U.P. Health System EMS.
