Gwinn man pleads not guilty to murder and arson charges
MARQUETTE — A Gwinn man charged with murder and arson in connection with a fatal fire at K.I. Sawyer will be in court Monday.
45-year-old Steven Zintman was originally scheduled to appear for arraignment in Marquette County Circuit Court this Friday. Instead, Zintman has pleaded not guilty to felony murder and first-degree arson. He has also waived his right to have an arraignment.
Zintman now has a scheduling conference on Monday to determine his next court date.
The Forsyth Township Police arrested him in October after a lengthy investigation into the fire which happened last May at 609 Valkyrie Street at Sawyer. 46-year-old Sally Plume, who lived in that home, died in the blaze.
Zintman has been held in the Marquette County Jail on 2 million dollars cash bond. He could face life in prison on both the murder and arson charges.
