Western Marquette County Health Foundation grant deadline is coming up
ISHPEMING — U.P. Health System Bell has grant money to give away in the near future through its own charitable foundation.
The Western Marquette County Health Foundation has a deadline of New Year’s Eve deadline to apply for grants. The group places a priority on health projects that serve Ishpeming, Negaunee and the nine townships that surround them.
“We will fund things in Marquette County as a whole, as well as the Upper Peninsula as a whole, but just the mission of our organization is to try to make sure we touch as many folks in the western portion of Marquette County as possible,” Western Marquette County Health Foundation treasurer and secretary Kori Tossava said.
The organization was known as the Bell Foundation until LifePoint bought Bell Hospital last year. This is the second grant funding cycle the group has held since then.
It’s hoping to approve about $20,000 in grant funding in January.
“Our grant applications, we request that they be in the range of 1,000 to $10,000,” Tossava said. “We will review multi-year grants.”
Its website, wmqtcountyhealthfoundation.org, has plenty of additional information.
