Prison for man in sex abuse KBIC child
MARQUETTE — A Wisconsin man will spend the next six years in federal prison after confessing that he abused a young relative in Baraga County in a decade old case.
Douglas Emil Kuglar, Jr., 34, of Vilas, Wisconsin pleaded guilty to one count of abusive sexual contact with a child under 12 years old. In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors dropped another felony charge.
U.S. District Judge R. Allen Edgar also sentenced Kuglar to 20 years of probation. The young male victim was about three and a half years old. The incidents occurred between 2004 and 2006 during visits at a relative’s home on the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community.
Kugler must register as a sex offender in Wisconsin.
