Huskies ranked No. 4 by USCHO.com
HOUGHTON, Mich. – After its bye week, the Michigan Tech hockey team climbed to No. 4 in both the USCHO.com Top 20 Poll and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll. The Huskies host No. 8 Minnesota Duluth this weekend at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena.
There will be a flash ticket sale on Wednesday for the games. Special prices for reserved seats are $12 for adults (regularly $17) and $5 for youth (regularly $10). Tickets can be purchased at the Central Ticket Office in the Student Development Complex, online at BuyHuskiesTickets.com or over the phone by calling 906-487-2073. The discounted offer is only available from 11:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The puck drops at 7:07 p.m. both nights. There will be a Teddy Bear Toss during the first intermission on Friday. Fans are encouraged to bring a new stuffed animal to be thrown onto the ice and donated to Toys for Tots. The Teddy Bear Toss is sponsored by the Michigan Tech Student Athletic Advisory Committee.
Tech is 12-2-0 overall and on top of the WCHA standings with a 10-2-0 mark in league play. The Huskies received one first place vote in the USCHO poll.
UMD swept Colorado College last weekend to improve to 11-5 overall and 7-3 in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.
The Huskies last played Nov. 28-29 at Alabama Huntsville, walking away with a 4-2 win Friday and 5-2 victory Saturday.
Tech entered the polls at No. 17 on Oct. 27. They were ranked No. 9 on Nov. 3, No. 5 on Nov. 10, No. 1 on Nov. 17, No. 6 on Nov. 24, and No. 5 last week.
