NMU’s Hafner earns top honor from GLIAC
BAY CITY, Mich – Northern Michigan University forward Paula Hafner has been named the GLIAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Year.
Hafner, who just finished her sophomore season with the Wildcats, scored 14 goals and 3 assists for a total of 31 points. Hafner scored multiple goals in four games this season. She was the Wildcats leader in goals, points, shots, shots on goal, and game winning goals.
Hafner and the Wildcats finished the season 7-10-1 after an opening round playoff loss to Ohio Dominican in the GLIAC Quarterfinals.
Michigan Tech sophomore forward Jacqueline Mielke and sophomore defenseman Emily Morin were both named to the All-GLIAC second team.
Huskies senior midfielder Annie Dahlquist and Wildcats senior midfielder Kim Rietveld were both honorable mention selections.
