One in critical condition following two-car crash in Marquette
It was motorcycle vs. SUV in a crash Friday evening that sent one man to the hospital.
The crash happened just after 5 p.m. on Country Road 550 and Wetmore Landing in Marquette.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department says a motorcycle, driven by Talon Smith, 30, of Marquette, was traveling north on 550 and entered the southbound lane, attempting to pass two vehicles.
Smith’s motorcycle struck a Ford Escape, driven by Patricia Johnson of Freesoil, MI, that was turning left and crossing the southbound lane.
Johnson and her passenger were wearing seat belts and neither of them were injured.
Smith was wearing a helmet and is in critical, but stable, condition at Marquette General Hospital. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.
Sheriff’s Office Deputies were assisted on scene by Marquette Township Fire Department and Marquette General Hospital EMS.
