NMU golf team in the mix at GLIAC Tourney
GEORGETOWN, Ky. – Northern Michigan University sophomore Dustin Dishaw is even after the first day of competition at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference Golf Championships at Cherry Blossom Golf Course.
“We can’t win on the first day, but we can put ourselves in a good position for the next two rounds and we did just that,” said NMU head coach Kyle Wittenbach.
Dishaw led NMU on the first day as the Wildcats are tied for seventh out of 15 teams shooting a combined 295 (+7) as a squad.
Seniors Ayrton Mantha and Ben Johnson are tied for 29th both shooting a 74 (+2) during the first day of competition.
Sophomore Emil Lundgren was fourth for the Wildcats and tied for 38th place at +3 while freshman Austin Elsner finished tied for 46th at +4.
Grand Valley State leads the group with a tournament best -5 for the day, followed by Malone at -4 and Walsh at -2.
Action continues on Saturday with a split-tee start beginning at 8:30 a.m.
