Woman sentenced to time served for brief police standoff
ONTONAGON — An Ontonagon woman has been sentenced in connection with a brief armed standoff with Ontonagon County sheriff’s deputies.
Audrey Johnston, 24, was sentenced to the 64 days that she’d already served in jail. She’ll have to pay $250 in fines and court costs. Johnston pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace.
Ontonagon County District Judge Anders Tingstad is expected to review and dismiss two other charges — felonious assault and assault and battery.
In March, Johnston pulled a knife on Ontonagon County sheriff’s deputies and resisted arrest while they were investigating a verbal threats complaint. She eventually dropped the knife and surrendered.
