U.P. Craft Beer Week goes on tap
MARQUETTE – This is the week craft beer enthusiasts across the Upper Peninsula have been waiting for.
It’s U.P. Craft Beer Week and everywhere from the Soo to Copper Harbor there are events going on all week. Some events will last the entire week, while others will occur on a specific day.
Among the week long offerings include brewery tours at Brickside Brewery and a special tapping of the 51st State IPA at Soo Brewing Company. Blackrocks Brewery will also be tapping an oak aged version of two of their popular beers toward the end of the week. White’s Party Store in Marquette will be hosting several beer tastings throughout the week featuring Bell’s, New Holland, Short’s and Jolly Pumpkin.
Some of the daily events include tap takeovers, beer and food pairings and other specials. Ore Dock Brewing Company will be hosting Beer, Babes and Brats, a speed dating event, Tuesday night. Double Trouble DJs will be hosting two beer cruises at the Lower Harbor – one Friday night at sunset and the other Saturday morning for breakfast.
The entire week culminates Saturday with the Michigan Brewers Guild U.P. Fall Beer Fest. Tickets for the fest are still available, but the event is expected to sell out.
We will have more on craft beer week and the beer fest in the coming days.
