Reports: Tigers land Price from Rays
According to various reports, the Tigers have traded for Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher David Price. Detroit, Tampa Bay, and Seattle were all involved in the trade.
In order to get Price, the Tigers had to part with two players. Austin Jackson was traded to the Mariners and lefty Drew Smyly was dealt to the Rays.
Price won the A.L. Cy Young award in 2012.
With Price coming to Detroit, the Tigers will have the last three Cy Young award winners– Justin Verlander, Price, and Max Scherzer, in the rotation. The Major League Trade deadline was today at 4 p.m. EST.
