Munising hires a boys basketball coach

The Munising boys basketball team has a new head coach. Lance Johnson has been tabbed to lead the Mustangs program. Johnson replaces Dan Waterman, who left Munising last month to become the head coach of the boys basketball team at Negaunee.

Johnson is on his way to the Upper Peninsula from Dordt College in Iowa, where he was a Graduate Assistant for the men’s basketball program. Dordt College won 28 games last season on their way to making a appearance in the NAIA national tournament.

Johnson played high school basketball in Michigan at Spring Lake High School, which is just east of Grand Haven. He was the Lakers team MVP for two seasons. Johnson graduated from Grand Valley State University.
