Blueberry Festival Talent Show Auditions
With much anticipation, the Marquette Blueberry Festival starts this Friday. One of the main attractions is the Youth Talent Show.
We caught up with some of the kids performing at this year’s show earlier today for a glimpse of the talent coming to the stage later this week.
The lovey voices of the group Cantare auditioned today. They’re just one of the acts who showed up to showcase their skills at this year’s tryout. From preschool to 12th grade, everyone is invited to perform in the big show.
“It’s a great showcase with youth who have had a lot of experience on stage and others where it is their first time on stage. We have everything from singing, dancing, instrumentation and even some hoola–hooping and whistling we have had in past years,” said Nikke Nason, Artist/Executive Director, Lake Superior Youth Theatre.
The Talent Showcase starts at 11am on the main stage and goes until about 1pm. Each year, the festival sees an average of 30 different acts.
“Amazing Grace, I chose it because I think that song is really nice and lots of people sing it, it’s God’s Grace,” said Rachel Niskanen, 8 years–old.
“I am going to perform a song I learned in orchestra last year, it’s called Tuxedo Junction and it’s a jazzy little thing,” said Alixandria Johnson, 13 years–old.
The Blueberry Festival will take over downtown Marquette this Friday. It’s free to attend and you can enjoy all things Blueberry.
