Police seek public assistance in establishing Munising shooting timeline
Michigan State Police are turning to the public for help in establishing a timeline of events leading up to last Monday’s shooting incident in Munising.
Detectives from the Negaunee Post are asking anyone who came into contact with Timothy Mitchell during the day of the altercation to contact them. Detective Sergeant Paul Campbell or Detective Sergeant Chris Croley can be reached at 906-475-9922.
According to the police report, before he was shot by a patrol officer on Buckhorn Road in Munising Township, Mitchell was last seen in the Christmas area. The unofficial autopsy report indicates the Munising-area resident died as a result of the gunshot wound.
The investigation into the entire incident is ongoing and a further update will be forthcoming upon its conclusion.
