A 30-year-old Calumet man was taken to the hospital Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle in Calumet Township.

Troopers from the Gladstone Post of the Michigan State Police responded to the scene at 12:50 a.m. on the report that a pedestrian had been struck by a car on M-26 near Henwood Road. Police say the man was walking along the highway when he was hit by a car driven by a 21-year-old Lake Linden woman.

The man was taken to Aspirus Keewenaw Hospital and later transferred to Marquette General Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

There is no word on the condition of his injuries. The incident remains under investigation.

State police were assisted on the scene by Laurium PD, Calumet PD, Lake Linden PD, Bootjack First Responders and Mercy Ambulance.
