Names released in Marquette home invasion

The names of two suspects involved in a police standoff and home invasion in Marquette have been released.

Kyler Arrieta and Johnathan Roy were arrested by the Marquette City Police Department Friday morning.  They are each charged with home invasion, a 20-year felony, and felony firearm, a two-year felony.

During the home invasion, police say the two suspects gained entry to a home through an unsecured door and assaulted the homeowner.  One suspect used a gun during the home invasion.

The victim described the suspects and their vehicle to police, officers located Arrieta and Roy outside an apartment in The Preserve at Orianna Ridge.  They were arrested without incident.  Officers obtained a search warrant and located stolen property and firearms from a residence and a vehicle.

Arrieta and Roy are currently lodged in the Marquette County Jail on $1 million bonds each and will be arraigned in District Court Monday.

Police say there is no apparent connection between the suspects and the victim.  The victim sought treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation, and additional charges are possible.

The Michigan State Police, Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, and Marquette General EMS assisted in the investigation.
