Men arraigned on marijuana charges in Ontonagon County
Two Minnesota men arrested in Ontonagon County have been arraigned on several marijuana charges.
The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office says 28–year–old Nicholas James Schuckert of Saint Louis Park, Minnesota and 21–year–old Stevie Ray Yanez of Minneapolis were arrested Saturday in White Pine after firefighters from the Carp Lake Township Fire Department were investigating a report of possible smoke and fire in a building at the White Pine trailer park. Firefighters reported a possible grow operation to police. Police obtained a search warrant for two buildings in the area, resulting in the arrest of the men.
The pair were arraigned in Ontonagon County District Court Monday on four marijuana–related charges, including two felony counts involving delivery and manufacture of marijuana and two misdemeanor counts of maintaining a drug house. The incident is still under investigation by the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office and the Ontonagon County Prosecutor.
The men are currently lodged at the Ontonagon County Jail on $527,000 bonds. Ontonagon County District Court says the men’s pretrial dates will be set within 14 days.
