The schedules are out for the Northern Michigan University men’s and women’s basketball teams for this coming season.
The women’s team, fresh off a trip to the NCAA Division II tournament, will begin the season against the team that a former NMU player now coaches. The Lady Wildcats have an exhibition game on Sunday, November 2nd in Indianapolis against a Division I team, Butler. Former NMU player Kurt Godlevske recently became the Butler women’s head coach.
The Lady Wildcats begin the regular season on Friday, November 14th against Minnesota-Crookston at a neutral site. The first of their 12 home games will be on Sunday, November 23rd against Concordia-St. Paul. The regular season finale is at home on Thursday, February 26th against Michigan Tech.
The men’s team begins its season on the same night that the women’s team has its regular-season opener, November 14th, at Lewis University. The Wildcat men will also have 12 home games, starting on Wednesday, November 19th against Finlandia. Their regular-season finale will also be at home, on the same night and against the same school as the women’s team, February 26th against Michigan Tech.
