MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan University head men’s basketball coach Bill Sall announced that Adam Pohlman has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Wildcats basketball program and will join the squad in the fall of 2014.
Pohlman, a 6-0 guard from Neenah, Wis., averaged 10.6 points per game and was the Fox Valley Association Player of the Year while leading Neenah High School to the WIAA Division I State Championship game and a 26-2 overall record this past season. He also played with the Wisconsin Playground Elite AAU team.
“I am very pleased to welcome Adam into the Wildcat Basketball family,” said Sall. “We knew that finding a quality point guard in the 2014 class was very important. From day one we felt that Adam was the best fit for our program. He is a tremendous competitor who is far more concerned about the outcome of the team rather than attaining personal accolades. Adam understands how to quarterback a team and I look forward to working with him. The Fox Valley area was one of the locations we determined would be a focal point of our recruiting efforts. It’s awesome that we were able to get commitments from Adam and Cooper Radkte.”
Pohlman led Neenah High School to their first Fox Valley Association Championship since 1998. Pohlman is also a talented soccer player having been named the Gatorade Wisconsin Boys Soccer Player of the Year and was an All-American.
