Potential sites for new Marquette General Hospital narrowed down
The site selection process for the new home of Marquette General Hospital has taken a step forward.
In a brief statement, MGH officials say they’ve narrowed the potential sites to a short list of locations in the city of Marquette and in Marquette Township.
Marquette General CEO Ed Banos says they’ve worked with an independent consultant to evaluate the potential sites for the new hospital. Banos says hospital officials are beginning talks with the owners of the properties that they’re interested in.
The statement says the final site should be selected within the next 60 to 90 days. MGH officials announced in mid-September that they’d decided to build a new, state-of-the-art hospital with 235 beds and a medical office building.
