Three Huskies named All-GLIAC

*BAY CITY, Mich.* – The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its all-conference men’s basketball teams on Monday (March 3). Austin Armga named to the first team, Ben Stelzer selected to the second team and Alex Culy received a spot on the all-defensive team.
Armga, a senior from Waupun, Wis., has been a top scorer in the GLIAC and nation all season long. He is currently averaging 23.4 points per game and is tied for 10th in scoring at Michigan Tech with 1,449 points. Earlier this season, Armga was named an Academic All-American. He was also a Preseason GLIAC First Team selection.
Stelzer, a junior from Manitowoc, Wis., leads the GLIAC, and is seventh in the nation, in 3-pointers per game (3.5). He is two points shy of 1,000 for his career and his averaging 16.5 points per game. Stelzer was named to the Preseason GLIAC Second Team and to the Academic All-District First Team.
Culy, a senior from Rice Lake, Wis., becomes the second player in Tech history to be named to the GLIAC All-Defensive Team three times (Keith Fogle 2000-03 was the other). Culy has started every game of his career (111) and leads the team in assists (70) and steals (28).
The Huskies are the No. 4 seed and host No. 5 Grand Valley State on Wednesday (March 5) in the quarterfinal round of the GLIAC Tournament. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at the SDC Gym in the third meeting between the teams. Tech won the two meetings in the regular season.
