Men accused of illegally killing a cougar facing charges
Three men accused of illegally killing a cougar in Schoolcraft County are facing charges.
The trio is from the Lower Peninsula.
Conservation Officers and other DNR personnel found evidence of the cougar’s death in December.
The men are facing multiple charges, including endangered species–taking/possessing/buying or selling, conspiracy to commit endangered species, lying to a peace officer, and killing/torturing an animal.
The Schoolcraft County Sheriff’s Department said the suspects are not lodged in the county jail, and do not have any information regarding their arrests. There is also no word on when the men will next appear in Schoolcraft County District Court.
