New trial date for case involving inmate death
A trial scheduled to start Thursday for two men allegedly involved the death of a prison inmate in Gogebic County is postponed.
In January, Delorean Henderson, 25, opted to pled guilty instead of going to trial.
The Gogebic County Prosecutor’s Office will not say what Henderson pled to. His his co-defendant, 32-year-old Michael Smith, is scheduled for trial February 25.
Smith is facing two charges: homicide second degree murder and homicide manslaughter, both as a habitual offender, fourth offense.
The pair is accused of murdering Randolph Conner, 26, in January 2013 at the Ojibway Correctional Facility in Marenisco.
