More propane assistance funds on the way
The state of Michigan is continuing to help residents who are affected by the ongoing propane shortage.
Governor Rick Snyder said the Department of Human Services is working with the legislature to dedicate $7 million to the Low Income Heating and Energy Assistance Program. That’s in addition to the $7 million dollars already devoted to deliverable fuel heating assistance from the Michigan Energy Assistance program.
Earlier this week, Snyder and six other governors from around the Midwest wrote a letter to President Obama for assistance in the propane shortage.
Snyder’s office is asking anyone in need of heating assistance to visit michigan.gov/heatingassistance.
