Sault bridge times entering U.S. down sharply
Increased traffic volume doesn’t often lead to a smoother flow on a road or a bridge, but it’s happening in Sault Ste. Marie.
The International Bridge Association recently found that traffic on the Sault International Bridge is up by nearly 2% from last year. The group also says that wait times for southbound vehicles are down by more than 30%. The IBA gives credit for the decrease to increased cooperation with border authorities.
Northbound average wait times increased from 10 minutes to 13 minutes, likely due to stricter procedures for entering Canada.
