Deadly domestic assault case bound over to circuit court

A domestic assault case that turned deadly has been bound to circuit court.

34-year-old Nima Nassiri appeared in Houghton County District Court today on charges of second degree murder for his alleged assault on his wife, 27-year-old Senaz Nezami.

Nezami died from the severity of her injuries at Marquette General Hospital last month, just a few days after the incident.

Nassiri chose to waive the preliminary hearing and his case has been bound to circuit court, where he is scheduled to appear this Wednesday. If convicted, Nassiri could face up to life in prison.
