Catch the Christmas Spirit
Only Santa could have brought parents and kids outside to brave the cold weather Tuesday night for the Marquette Township Business Association’s Catch the Christmas Spirit.
The spirit of Christmas could not be complete without a countdown to the lighting of the Christmas tree. Santa arrived to hear the kids’ wish list but apparently Rudolph was busy as Santa had to get a ride.
With kids playing and making snow angels the Grinch couldn’t resist and made an appearance.
“The Westwood Mall Santa is here, he just pulled up in a firetruck, the Grinch showed up tonight, walked all through Applebees and tried to steal our microphones. We are excited because the nasty Grinch has been caught and Christmas has been saved,” Luke Noordyk from Great Lakes Radio said.
After the Grinch was escorted away Christmas was put back on track.
Santa got back to listening to Christmas wishes and deciding who is on the naughty list and who made it to the nice list.
“I’ve been listening to my mother and I’ve been good to my sisters so I am doing good. I would like a bike, a new bike,” ten-year-old Ella Lillie said.
After the tree lighting, everyone was invited inside the mall for hot chocolate, cookies and photos with Santa.
