Police look for burglars who struck twice at one apartment complex

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a home
invasion and larceny of household items at two separate apartments in
the Village of South Range. The two incidents occurred approximately
one month apart and both occurred at the Range Town Apartments in South
Range.

Police say, on two separate occasions the suspect/suspects gained entry into the apartments without force and stole numerous household items along
with a large amount of cash.

The apartments were unoccupied at the time of the theft, as the residents were out of town.

Items taken during the first of the two home invasions include a 60 inch Vizio brand flat screen TV; Samsung sound box with sub woofer; silver coins; numerous Craftsman tools which included ratchets, sockets, wrenches,
Craftsman cordless drill, a reciprocating saw, Craftsman impact driver, two 19.2
volt batteries and a charger for Craftsman cordless tools; Superior
National Bank blank checks; an RCA surround sound unit and a large three-tier red Craftsman rolling tool box.
Police say these items had been purchased within the last couple of weeks.

Items taken in the home invasion that occurred in the later part of October were approximately $3500.00 in cash along with the small bluefire-proof safe in which the money was located; four silver Zippo lighters in a four box set and a silver Wolf bracelet with a
diamond on it. Bank checks were also taken from this apartment from
Superior National Bank and TCF Bank. Titles for a 2002 Kia vehicle and a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country van were taken, as well as a small tin metal black box.
