Wisconsin man sentenced on CSC charge
A Wisconsin man was sentenced in Houghton County Circuit Court in connection to a criminal sexual conduct case.
Chad LaPointe, 26, was sentenced to 12 months in jail on one count of fourth degree CSC with a victim between 13 and 16 years old.
He was credited for 195 days served and court fines total almost $200.
LaPointe was scheduled for two separate trials in November and December.
In a plea agreement, he pled guilty to fourth degree CSC, and one count of accosting a child for immoral purposes was dropped. He is also banned from entering the Sate of Michigan after he is released from jail; if he returns, or fails to leave, he could be recharged.
