Greeley reappointed as U.S. Magistrate Judge
“Be on time and be prepared” if you are entering his courtroom.
The Honorable Timothy P. Greeley reminded everyone of this Wednesday at his reappointment ceremony.
The courtroom was full when he was sworn in this afternoon.
Judge Greeley has served 25 years as a U.S. Magistrate for the Western District of Michigan, Northern Division.
The Merit Selection Panel says he was the best man for the job.
“We looked at his whole record, we didn’t find anything, not one negative thing about him,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Maarten Vermaat said. “In fact, we found a record that was full of positives. He does a professional job he creates a positive environment here at the bar and there was no question he should have been reappointed.”
“It has been a pleasure to serve this past 25 years,” Judge Greely said. “I look forward to another eight year term, which will give me an opportunity to continue to do a job that I love.”
Judge Greeley was appointed as a United States Magistrate Judge in 1988, making him the youngest magistrate judge at that time.
