One person injured in Marquette fire
One person is recovering from injuries in a mobile home fire in Marquette.
The blaze at the Birch Grove Mobile Home Community on Pioneer Road started shortly after 5:00 p.m. Saturday. When crews arrived, the trailer on Lot #16 had heavy smoke and flames showing.
All of the residents were accounted for outside of the trailer, but one of them needed treatment at the scene from a fire department EMT. The resident was taken to Marquette General Hospital for further treatment. There’s no word on how that resident is doing.
Firefighters put out the flames 15 minutes after arriving. The trailer sustained heavy smoke damage and heat damage. The cause is under investigation, but the fire is believed to have started in the south end of the trailer.
Marquette General EMS Unit 141, the Marquette City Police, SEMCO Energy and the Marquette Board of Light and Power assisted at the scene.
