Flu vaccine clinic in Marquette
Cold and flu season is right around the corner, so nurses from the Marquette County Health Department clinic were out today in the community getting people vaccinated.
Officials say it’s important to get the flu shot now, before the flu hits the area.
“It does take the vaccination a couple of weeks to take affect so we recommend people come in early, get their flu shot prior to it impeding the area,” Health Department nurse Jill Santti said.
“We want members in our community, especially those that have a hard time getting up to the Health Department or even to their doctors’ office, if we go out in the community, it’s just more accessible,” Lynn Driscoll of the Health Department said.
Nurses say getting the shot is important to protect not only yourself, but others you work with or come in contact with.
