Fatal accident in Alger Co.
UPDATE:
The Alger County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident that occurred at 4:50 a.m. today.
The accident on FFH –13 happened approximately ½ mile south of M-28 in Munising Township.
Emergency Services were dispatched and found that two vehicles had collided head on.
The driver of the northbound vehicle – 27 year old Brandon Lester of Garden, Michigan – sustained non life threatening injuries and was treated and released from Munising Memorial Hospital.
The driver of the southbound vehicle has been identified as 20-year-old Scott David Mellon of AuTrain. Mellon was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
An autopsy has been ordered to assist in the investigation.

The Alger County Sheriff’s Department says one person has died in an accident on U.S. Forest Highway 13.
The crash happened around 5 a.m.
