Houghton fast-food restaurant closes
Planning on grabbing some dinner at Arby’s? Not so fast.
The Houghton Arby’s Restaurant shut down abruptly today.
A spokesperson for the franchise owner, Thornbury’s, Incorporated, said the decision was made because the restaurant’s lease had expired – and the cost to renew it was too high.
Thornbury’s website (arbysup.com) says the group operates Arby’s restaurants in Escanaba, Iron Mountain, Marquette, Sault Ste. Marie, Manistique, and Ashland, Wisconsin and owns franchise rights for Ironwood, Negaunee and Saint Ignace.
The Houghton restaurant was opened in 2008.
