Cemetery theft investigation leads to arrest
The Iron County Sheriff’s Office continues the investigation into the theft of decorations from the Evergreen Cemetery in Crystal Falls.
During the investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies uncovered evidence of theft from retail stores in the City of Iron River.
On September 13, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Carol Herbert, a 60-year-old Crystal Falls woman, in connection with the thefts. Herbert was charged with seven counts of receiving and concealing stolen property, four counts of larceny, and three counts of retail fraud.
Herbert was arraigned in the Iron County Trial Court September 16. Herbert’s next scheduled court appearance is on September 30 at 2:30 p.m.
