Man driving ORV crashes into building, flees police
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a fleeing and eluding incident that landed a 23–year–old Ramsay man in jail Sunday morning in Gogebic County.
Michigan State Police from the Wakefield Post say the man was riding a four wheeler in the middle of U. S. 2 in Bessemer Township near Ramsay Road.
After failing to stop, troopers say the man fled down an ORV trail and crashed into the Bessemer Small Engine building. He then fled on foot until police caught him.
Police say he ran into a metal clothesline pole while fleeing and suffered head injuries. He was treated at Aspirus Grand View Hospital in Ironwood and released.
He is charged with Fleeing and Eluding, OWI, and Driving with a Suspended License. The man is being held in the Gogebic County Jail $1,500 bond.
