McBroom, Lions Foundation to host free child eye exams
State Rep. Ed McBroom and the Lions Foundation are teaming up to offer free eye exams to all children through the Project KidSight Program on Sept. 21 at the Escanaba Civic Center from noon to 2 p.m., EST.
“Project KidSight can help identify a common barrier to learning and development in young children so families can consider corrective treatment options sooner rather than later,” said McBroom, R-Vulcan. “I appreciate the partnership with the Lions Foundation and Project KidSight that is bringing this opportunity to our communities.”
Project Kidsight is a high-tech mobile vision screener that is programmed to quickly and accurately identify vision disorders. The procedure is quick and non-invasive allowing for a high volume of tests to be done in a short amount of time.
No appointments are necessary and while the program is targeted at children up to 5 years old, any students of school age are welcome.
