Truck fully engulfed in Kingsford parking lot

A fully engulfed blue 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck parked in at Grede Foundry in Kingsford has been extinguished.

Kingsford Public Safety arrived at the scene within 30 seconds due to the fact that Public Safety Officers are trained as both police and firefighters. The truck was extinguished within minutes. Officers remained on the scene to investigate the fire. The owner of the vehicle had parked in the lot at 4:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, but the fire isn’t believed to have started until around 5:0o p.m. No one was inside the vehicle at the time of the fire. The fire is believed to have originated under the hood due to a wiring problem.
