U.P. men appointed to state boards
Governor Rick Snyder appointed two Upper Peninsula men to government boards and commissions.
John Burrows, of Escanaba, was appointed to the state Carnival-Amusement Safety Board.
The board assists the Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs by inspecting amusement parks and traveling shows that operate in the state. The appointment is for a four-year term expiring July 10, 2017.

Burrows has been the operations manager for Skerbeck Brothers Shows Inc since 2000.
Ted Hanson, of Cornell, was appointed to the Michigan Potato Industry Commission. The commission promotes economically sustainable potato industry.
Hanson co-owns Hanson Seed Far LLC, farming seed potatoes, corn, hay, and grain.
