Walmart purse theft: Have you seen these people?
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department is asking for help in finding two people who may have been eye witnesses to a crime this past week.
The pair may have seen the theft of a purse from the Walmart in Marquette Township Wednesday, August 21.
Police believe the man wearing a white t-shirt who is walking with a woman wearing a blue shirt, that can be seen in the video at the 7-second mark, may have witnessed the crime. If you know either of these people, please contact the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office at (906) 225-8434 or the Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at (906) 225-8441.
Marquette County Sheriff Mike Lovelace says the purse contained a substantial amount of cash and was inadvertently left in a shopping cart in the Walmart parking lot about 4:30 last Wednesday afternoon.
A lighter colored Chevrolet Impala missing a front left wheel cover was parked next to the cart where the purse had been left. That same Impala was seen at the Marquette Township Target store.
Surveillance video shows it stopping for a few seconds next to a shopping cart and then leaving the lot. The purse was found in the shopping cart in the parking lot by a Target employee – but the cash was missing.
If you know who owns the vehicle in question, contact the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office at (906) 225-8434 or the Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at (906) 225-8441.
