Sunday night storm damage
Sunday’s sunny skies and warm temperatures turned into a series of severe late-night storms that ripped up nearly everything in their path.
The National Weather Service estimates overnight wind gusts reached between 45 and 55 miles per hour in many places, uprooting dozens of trees close to a foot in diameter.
The preliminary report notes severe damage to several homes and cars in Ishpeming.
Most of the tree damage was isolated around the West Ishpeming area near the intersection of Randall, Greenwood, and Hollyhock Streets.
Branches littered residential streets and power lines throughout the county.
Some residents even reported finding personal items like trampolines and lawn ornaments in nearby yards.
Luckily, no injuries have been reported.
