Dickinson & Iron County stress seat belt safety
Labor Day weekend is one of the biggest three-day travel periods of the year, and the Michigan State Police are cracking down on seat belt safety.
Troopers from the Iron Mountain Post will focusing on seat belt violations and will be handing out $65 tickets for anyone unbuckled.
“Seat belts are a motorist’s best defense in the event of a crash,” said F/Lt. Christine Grabowski, Iron Mountain Post Commander. “This enforcement period is an effort to remind motorists to buckle up and more importantly, save lives.”
This year’s holiday weekend begins on August 30th and runs through September 2nd.
