Crime filled weekend for police
The Ontonagon Sheriff’s Department had a busy weekend with a number of alcohol and drug related arrests.
Saturday night saw two Marquette residents land in jail.
The first incident involved a 44-year-old man who was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday night. The subject was released from prison on a $5,000 bond, but will have to appear in Michigan’s 98th District Court on September 17th.
The second arrest took place just after 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, after a 41-year-old Marquette woman was seen with open intoxicants. She was released $1,000 bond and will have to appear in Michigan’s 98th District court on September 17th.
Finally, a 28-year-old Ontonagon man was arrested just after 2:00 in the morning for furnishing to minors and using marijuana. The perpetrator is still being held in the Ontonagon County Jail on $10,000 bond.
