Your help is needed to Stuff the Bus
Stuff the Bus 2013 is Monday August 26…and donations are already being dropped off to make the school year a success for low income children in Marquette County.
A wide variety of back-to-school items is being dropped off at the Holiday Inn of Marquette and the YMCA of Marquette County. Children who are part of the Free and Reduced Lunch Programs at local elementary and middle school will receive the items…to help them get the school year started on the right foot.
Suggested items to donate include: basic supplies such as pens, pencils, crayons, folders, colored markers, highlighters, composition books, protractors, compasses, water colors sketch pads, and 3×5 index cards.
Personal hygiene items and clothing items are also on the back-to-school donation list. School nurses say they can always use clothing items for younger children such as socks, underwear, sweat pants and sweat shirts.
A full-size school bus will be on site at the Holiday Inn of Marquette Monday, August 26 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. so that area residents can Stuff the bus full of back-to-school supplies.
Stuff the Bus 2013 is a partner program of the Holiday Inn of Marquette, YMCA of Marquette County, Eagle Radio/The Point, and WBUP-TV/ABC 10.
