Harbor Fest brings fun for the whole family
Mattson Lower Harbor Park in Marquette was full of food and music Friday night to kick off the 30th annual Harbor Fest.
Friday saw a Bob Dylan Tribute Band play for the crowd, and Saturday night also features live music.
Saturday is also Family Fun Day with a classic car show, food, artist and vendor booths, and demonstrations on boat building and paddling.
The Marquette Rotary West puts on Harbor Fest–previously known as Seafood Fest–every year for the community.
“‘Service about self’, that’s the rotarian motto, and we give back 100% of the proceeds from Habor Fest (to the community),” Harbor Fest co-chair Jamie Tomczyk said. “We support things like the Janzen house, YMCA, Jacobetti Center, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, so really it’s about us throwing a great party and being able to give back to the community.”
Marquette Rotary West raises about $600,000 each year for various organizations throughout Marquette County.
Harbor Fest runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.
